Yoko Choi
Yoko came to Singapore in 2013, where she completed a Diploma of Fine Art (Western Painting) at NAFA. Trained in western painting, she also works across ceramics, sculpture, and mixed-media installation. Her path to art therapy grew from volunteering with the Children’s Cancer Foundation; she now serves as an Art Therapist at the Institute of Mental Health Singapore, supporting people with mood disorders, trauma, neurodivergent needs, and vulnerable communities including children, shelter residents, inmates, and migrant workers.
With a lifelong love of art and a focus on paper, pen, charcoal, and performance, Yoko has exhibited her work across Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands. Her practice centres art as healing — bringing joy and reflection to those in need, especially vulnerable children through non-profit work.
